In 1999 Piedmont Virginia Companies, Inc. (PVC) was created to allow a 60 year old construction company to diversify and evolve into a group of independent businesses engaged in the commercial building construction industry. Based on our market research this appeared to be the best way to increase the level of service required by our clients. The market area for these businesses is predominately Charlottesville and Central Virginia. The PVC umbrella provides support to allow each business to stand independently and thrive while also providing them with the benefits of sister company relationships and the resources of a larger organization. PVC companies have a unique competitive advantage in their respective marketplaces.

The primary businesses wholly owned by PVC at the time of its founding were R. E. Lee & Son, Inc. (Lee), Piedmont Plaster and Drywall, Inc. (PPD), Piedmont Concrete Contractors, Inc. (PCC) and Piedmont Tool Repair, Inc. (PTR). Since its founding PVC has added R. E. Lee Construction Management, Inc. (LEECM) and Piedmont Facilities Management, Inc. (PFM) to its family of wholly owned construction related businesses. In 2007 PVC took another step in its growth as a leading provider of high quality construction services by acquiring an ownership interest in The Millwork Specialist, LLC (TMS).

PVC’s role is to provide common services, including strategic planning, executive and financial management, banking and bonding, administrative services and marketing to foster the success and profitability of our companies. PVC leverages the relationships they have developed throughout the years to achieve our success.
