In 1999 Piedmont Virginia Companies, Inc. (PVC) was established as the holding company for a variety of independent businesses engaged in commercial building construction in Charlottesville. PVC’s intent is to encourage each business to stand independently and to thrive in its market place. The primary businesses wholly owned by PVC at the time of its founding were R. E. Lee & Son, Inc. (Lee), Piedmont Plaster and Drywall, Inc. (PPD), Piedmont Concrete Contractors, Inc. (PCC) and Piedmont Tool Repair, Inc. (PTR). Since its founding, PVC has added R. E. Lee Construction Management, Inc. (LEECM) and Piedmont Facilities Management, Inc. (PFM) to its family of wholly owned construction related businesses. In 2007 PVC took another step in its growth as a leading provider of high quality construction services by acquiring an ownership interest in The Millwork Specialists, LLC (TMS).
PVC’s role is to provide common services, including strategic planning, financial management, and administrative services, to each of the operating companies. Administrative services include accounting, payroll, employee benefits, insurance, and bonding. PVC provides a common platform for communication and technology. Our goal is to cultivate our people and our businesses to be leaders - in our industry and in our community.
